Trace check

Trace check tells you, ghost by ghost, what someone reading public data could connect: your main wallet to a ghost, and your ghosts to each other. It reads transfers from the chain and bridge records from LI.FI, adds what your device recorded, and works out the lines in your tab. Nothing is signed and nothing is sent on chain.

Running a check

  1. 1
    Open Trace check

In the app, open Trace check under Private. Your ghosts must be open in this tab.

  2. 2
    Run it

The first check reads every block since Ghostdex opened on 12 October 2026, in steps of 100,000 blocks, and takes about a minute. Later checks read only the blocks since the last one, and run on their own when you open the page.

  3. 3
    Read the map

Your wallet sits in the middle and your ghosts around it. A line from the middle is a line to you; a line between two ghosts ties them together.

  4. 4
    Read each ghost

Every ghost gets a level, the transfers behind it with a link to each transaction, and what it means for you.

The levels

LevelWhat it meansFor example
Linked on the explorerMoney moved between the ghost and your main wallet on Robinhood Chain, directly or through one of your links.Funding a ghost straight from your wallet, or moving out to it.
Traceable through a bridgeA bridge route between them. On Robinhood Chain the ghost was paid by a relayer, but the transaction you signed on the other chain names the ghost as the recipient, and LI.FI's public history lists both addresses.Funding a ghost from Base, the recommended path.
Likely linkedNo transfer between them, but a pattern: an outside address both of them sent to, an address in between, or amounts and times that match within an hour.Your wallet sends 250 USDG to an exchange, and five minutes later the ghost gets 249.50 USDG from the exchange.
Tied to another ghostA line between two of your ghosts and no further.Moving USDG from Ghost 01 to Ghost 02.
Known to one personOnly a counterparty can tell the address is yours. The person who paid your ghost card, or who claimed a link the ghost paid for.
Nothing foundNothing in what the check reads connects the ghost to your wallet or your other ghosts.Rare for a ghost that holds money: most ways in leave a record somewhere.

Lines carry over

If two ghosts are tied and one of them is linked to you, the other one is too. Trace check follows every tie and gives each ghost the strongest path back to you, as strong as its weakest step: a ghost tied by a direct transfer to a ghost that is traceable through a bridge is itself traceable, and says which ghost it is linked through.

What it reads

SourceWhatHow
Robinhood ChainEvery Transfer of the 95 stock tokens, USDG and WETH to or from your ghosts and your links, since block 86,200,000eth_getLogs through the relay. Your ghosts are asked about together, 100,000 blocks at a time. Ghosts where nothing ever happened are skipped.
Robinhood ChainYour main wallet's USDG and WETH transfers over the same blocksSeparate requests, one token each, never in the same request as a ghost
Robinhood ChainFor an address that stands between you and a ghost: whether it is a contract, and how many transactions it has sentAn address that has sent more than 500 transactions is a service, such as a relayer or an exchange's hot wallet, and never counts as shared
LI.FIIts public transfer history for your main wallet since 12 October 2026: every bridge route it carried, with both ends, amounts and timesThrough Ghostdex's server. LI.FI is never asked about a ghost.

What it cannot see

  • Plain ETH moved outside this device. Public Robinhood Chain nodes cannot list ETH transfers by address, and the chain's explorer has been behind a challenge since September 2026. ETH sent between your wallet and a ghost from another device or another app is not in the check. A ghost where only ETH ever moved is flagged so you can look at it on the explorer.
  • Other tokens and other chains. Launch tokens and anything outside the stock tokens, USDG and WETH, and activity on other chains beyond the bridge records LI.FI publishes.
  • What others keep. Exchanges, bridges, hosts and analytics firms hold records of their own. Trace check sees only what is public.
  • Habits. A ghost that trades like your known wallet, at the same hours and in the same stocks, can be recognised without any transfer between them.
  • Mistakes both ways. A shared address can be a coincidence, and a pattern the check misses can still be found by someone else. Nothing found means nothing in what the check reads. It is not a promise.

Who sees a check

PartyWhat it sees
The Ghostdex relayThe requests your tab sends: your ghosts' addresses, your links and your main wallet, as it already does when it reads your balances. It stores none of it.
The chain's nodesThe relay's IP address. Your ghosts arrive together in one request; your main wallet arrives in requests of its own.
LI.FIYour main wallet's address, from our server. It already holds the routes it carried.
This browserThe transfers read so far and the answer, under ghostdex:trace:<address>, so the next check reads only new blocks.

Quotes no longer carry the Ghostdex name

LI.FI publishes the history of every route it carries, and anyone can list that history by the name of the app that asked for the quote. Until 21 October 2026 Ghostdex asked for quotes as ghostdex, which put every route made through Ghostdex, and with bridge routes both ends of each, in one public list. Since then quotes are sent under LI.FI's default name, like any other app using its API, and the transaction you sign no longer carries the word ghostdex. Routes made before the change still carry it.

What to do with the answer

  • Linked on the explorer: treat what the ghost holds as public. Use a new ghost for what you want kept apart, and fund it another way. Moving funds from a linked ghost to a new one carries the line along.
  • Traceable through a bridge: the line is there for anyone who checks bridge records. If that matters, fund new ghosts from a wallet or an exchange account that is not tied to your main address.
  • Likely linked: vary amounts and wait before you move money on. A deposit and a withdrawal of the same size a few minutes apart are easy to pair.
  • Tied: keep the ghosts you want apart from touching each other, and from sending to the same outside address.

Trace check is a mirror, not a shield. It shows what can be followed with public data. It does not hide anything, and Ghostdex makes no promise that an address cannot be traced. See Privacy model.
