Documentation/Token and risks

Risks

What can go wrong when you use Ghostdex, stated plainly. Read this before you trade, run an agent, lend or launch.

Smart contracts

Every order calls contracts that Ghostdex did not write: Uniswap's routers and pools, LI.FI's contracts and the bridges it uses, Morpho's vaults and markets, Doppler's launch contracts and hook. Any of them can contain a bug or be exploited. Audits reduce that risk; they do not remove it.

Keys in the browser

  • Ghost keys, the ghost root and an unlocked Ghostdex wallet live in your browser tab. Malware or a malicious extension on your device could read them. Lock your ghosts or close the tab when you are done, especially on a shared computer.
  • Anyone who obtains the ghost backup key, or the recovery phrase of the wallet that owns your ghosts, can spend from every ghost.
  • The signature that opens your ghosts is their seed. Sign the Ghostdex message only on Ghostdex.
  • If you lose the owner wallet and did not save the backup key, your ghosts cannot be opened again. Ghostdex cannot recover them.

Privacy limits

Ghosts break the explorer link between your main wallet and a trade. They do not hide amounts or timing, they do not hide the trades themselves, and a direct transfer or a sweep home links the addresses again. Bridges can know both ends of a route. Read Privacy model before you depend on a ghost.

Agents

An agent's plans come from an AI model, which can misread a mandate or misjudge the market. With autopilot on, its ghost signs the orders that pass your rules without asking you. Its loss is bounded by what its ghost holds, and nothing more; fund it only with an amount you accept to lose. Scheduled checks run only while a Ghostdex tab is open.

The issuer of the stock tokens

  • Pause: the issuer can pause a stock token. While paused, it cannot move, so swaps, baskets, agent orders and loans that touch it revert.
  • Block: the issuer can block an address, including a ghost. A blocked address cannot send or receive that stock.
  • Corporate actions: splits and similar events are applied through a display multiplier (uiMultiplier). A coming change is visible on chain before it takes effect (newUIMultiplier, effectiveAt).
  • Eligibility: the issuer decides who may hold or redeem its tokens. Tokenized stocks are not offered to US persons.

Prices and market hours

Pools trade at all hours; the shares behind them do not. Outside US market hours, a token's pool price can drift from the last close and spreads widen. Thin pools move more for the same order. Your slippage setting is the most an order can move against you before it reverts.

Lending and liquidation

A loan against a stock is priced by its market's oracle. If the stock falls far enough, your position can be liquidated at a penalty. A pause by the issuer can stop you from adding collateral. Vault withdrawals depend on how much of the vault is lent out at the moment.

Bridges

A bridge order depends on the bridge that carries it. It can be delayed, refunded, or deliver the bridged token instead of the one you asked for if the destination swap fails. Sending to an address you do not control, or to a contract wallet that does not exist on the destination chain, can lose the funds.

Launched tokens

Anyone can launch a token. Launched tokens are created by their creators, not by Ghostdex, carry no promise of any kind, and can lose all their value. A token's name or image is not a statement by the company it may refer to.

The interface

Ghostdex shows data from public sources that can be late or wrong, and the site or its relay can be unavailable. It cannot reverse, cancel or refund a transaction once it is signed. Nothing on this site, including an agent's notes, is investment, legal or tax advice. You are responsible for checking that you may use these products where you live.

If something looks different from what this page describes, stop and check the contract address in your wallet or confirmation sheet against Contracts before signing.
