Documentation/Get started

Quickstart

From an empty wallet to your first trade from a ghost, in five steps. Allow about ten minutes the first time, most of it waiting for a bridge.

Before you start

You need a browser wallet such as Rabby or MetaMask, or the Ghostdex wallet, and some funds on a chain Ghostdex can bridge from: ETH or USDC on Ethereum, Base or Arbitrum, or BNB or USDC on BNB Chain.

Five steps

  1. 1
    Connect

Open the app and press Connect wallet. Pick your wallet from the list and approve the connection.

  2. 2
    Open your ghosts

On Ghosts, sign the one message that opens them. There is no transaction and no gas. Your first ghost, Ghost 01, appears straight away.

  3. 3
Fund the ghost from another chain

Press Fund, keep From another chain selected, pick the chain and token you hold, and choose ETH as what the ghost receives: it pays the ghost's gas, and you can swap part of it later. Your wallet pays on the source chain; a bridge relayer pays the ghost on the other side.

  4. 4
    Act as the ghost

Open the Acting as menu at the top of the app and pick the ghost. A bar confirms that every order now signs as that ghost.

  5. 5
    Trade

On Swap, pay with ETH and pick a stock. Review the quote: the amount you receive, the least you accept, the route and each fee. Confirm in the ghost's sheet. The trade is signed by the ghost, and your main wallet does not appear in it.

After your first trade

Portfolio shows what the address you are acting as holds. Baskets, Earn and the launchpad work the same way from a ghost. When you want money out, read Funding and moving out first: how you leave matters as much as how you arrived.

If a transaction fails, only gas is spent. The app explains the reason in one sentence: a price that moved past your limit, a token paused by its issuer, or a balance too small for the order plus gas.
